Give Codex your site. Get one growth move back.
Most beginners make the same expensive mistake: they ask Codex for "SEO keywords," receive a hundred ideas, publish a few generic articles, and still have no idea which page is supposed to bring the next visitor.
Start differently.
Give Codex one website URL or one plain-English business idea. In 10 minutes, it will create a Growth Start Card that tells you:
- which growth route fits your site right now;
- the one visitor problem worth focusing on first;
- the first page or site issue that deserves attention;
- the facts it still needs from you; and
- the exact next tutorial to read.
You do not need to learn SEO vocabulary before doing this. You need to learn one useful habit: make Codex show its evidence and choose one next move before it creates content.
Your result today: a one-page Growth Start Card. It replaces "what should I do for SEO?" with a specific action such as "build your first traffic page," "repair this no-traffic page," "improve this page that already has demand," or "correct this fact before AI answers repeat it."
This is the starting lesson in Codex SEO and GEO: From Zero to 1,000,000 Organic Visits. The course helps you use Codex to turn an idea or an existing website into a repeatable organic-growth system: find demand, build pages that deserve clicks, make your facts easy for AI to understand, and improve what already works.
The 0-to-1,000,000 course map
You are not required to read twenty articles in order. Choose the route that matches your site today. Every route meets at the same practical work: choose a traffic mission, create a useful page, turn it into a topic system, improve it with evidence, and repeat.
I am here now | Start with this tutorial | You will finish with |
|---|---|---|
I have an idea, product, or service, but no useful site | A page blueprint and first traffic-page plan | |
I have a website, but it has little or no organic traffic | Your Website Has No Traffic: Let Codex Find the First Thing to Fix | One evidence-backed repair priority |
I have pages and some traffic, but growth has stalled | Traffic Has Stalled: Make Codex Find Your Fastest Organic Growth Opportunity | One page-and-query growth bet |
AI answers ignore us or describe us incorrectly | Make Codex Show You What AI Search Gets Wrong About Your Business | One AI Answer Gap Card and a correction task |
After any route, continue with Choose the One Traffic Mission That Makes Every SEO Decision Easier. That is where the work becomes focused: one audience, one problem, one page goal, one proof requirement, and one visitor action.
The growth milestones you will build after your starting route
This is the full course outline. The bold items are the main milestones, not separate pieces of SEO homework.
- Get a Growth Start Card - this article.
- Choose your entry route - new site, no traffic, stalled growth, or AI-answer gap.
- Set a Traffic Mission - one customer problem and one page goal.
- Build a Fact Pack - teach Codex the claims, proof, limits, and examples it may use.
- Find 30 real customer questions - demand research grounded in customer language and evidence.
- Choose a First Traffic Page - one page with a job, proof, and a visitor action.
- Build and publish the page - Codex drafts; you review the facts and approve the change.
- Make the answer clearer - improve the opening, proof, comparison, and next step.
- Connect the topic - turn isolated pages into a useful reader journey.
- Publish safely - use a reusable quality gate so good work does not break the site.
- Scale a winning problem - build five distinct pages instead of five variations of one page.
- Create an AI answer asset - make your best answer easy to retrieve and verify.
- Correct public facts - stop conflicting names, prices, locations, and policies from weakening trust.
- Earn distinctive proof - prepare one useful external mention, resource, partnership, or evidence opportunity.
- Run a weekly growth loop - let Codex help choose the next best action from saved evidence.
- Refresh pages with demand - improve what is already close to winning.
- Build a 90-day expansion plan - compound the work that proves it can earn qualified visits.
The full 20-article outline appears later on this page. You will not need every optional branch. For example, an ecommerce store may prioritize product-fit pages; a local business may prioritize service facts and bookings; a SaaS company may prioritize use cases and comparisons. The operating system stays the same: real customer problem -> verified facts -> useful page -> evidence -> next improvement.
A small SEO trick before you open Codex
Here is the difference between a page that exists and a page that can earn traffic:
Weak instruction | Strong traffic mission |
|---|---|
|
|
|
|
|
|
The strong version identifies a person, a decision, and a next action. That is enough for Codex to evaluate a page. It is also enough for a reader to recognize that the page was made for them.
You do not have to write this perfectly. The Growth Start Card will help. But if you remember one thing from this article, remember this:
Do not ask Codex for more content. Ask it to help one person make one decision.
Make your Growth Start Card in 10 minutes
Choose one input. Do not gather a research folder first.
If you have a website
Copy its public home-page URL. If a particular page feels important or disappointing, include that URL too.
Example:
Website: https://your-site.com
Page I care about: https://your-site.com/services/bookkeepingIf you do not have a website yet
Write three simple lines. You can be vague where you genuinely do not know.
What I sell or offer: Online bookkeeping help for freelancers.
Who I want to help: Freelance designers in Bristol, UK.
What I want a visitor to do: Book a 20-minute discovery call.Copy this Codex Standard prompt
Paste the prompt below into Codex. Replace only the text inside square brackets.
You are my SEO and GEO Growth Start analyst.
I am a beginner. My goal is to use Codex to grow a website from its current
state toward 1,000,000 organic visits by making useful pages, improving them
with evidence, and building a repeatable workflow.
My starting input:
[paste one public website URL, or paste the three-line idea description]
Optional page I care about:
[paste one URL, or write NONE]
My desired visitor action, if known:
[newsletter signup / demo / purchase / booking / contact / unknown]
First, inspect only the public URL(s) I provided. If I gave an idea instead,
use only the words I supplied. Do not log in, request credentials, use paid
tools, access private analytics, edit files, create content, change my site,
publish anything, contact anyone, or make external changes.
Return a Growth Start Card in plain English with exactly these sections:
1. STARTING ROUTE
Choose exactly one: BUILD FROM ZERO, FIX NO-TRAFFIC SITE, UNBLOCK STALLED
GROWTH, or FIX AI-ANSWER GAP. Explain the choice in two sentences.
2. WHAT I CAN SEE
List 3 to 5 observations. For a website, cite the URL and visible page
element behind each observation. For an idea, label every unknown as unknown.
Do not invent traffic, rankings, customers, products, locations, or facts.
3. FIRST TRAFFIC MISSION
Write one sentence using this shape:
Help [specific person] solve or decide [specific problem] by using a page
that proves [needed evidence] and leads to [visitor action].
4. FIRST GROWTH MOVE
Recommend one action only. It must be a page to build, a page to improve, a
site problem to diagnose, or a fact to correct. Explain why this comes before
keyword lists, bulk content, or technical changes.
5. THREE FACTS I NEED FROM THE OWNER
Ask for no more than three facts that you cannot safely infer.
6. NEXT COURSE LINK
Choose one and give the exact title:
- No Website Yet? Use Codex to Build an SEO-First Site Plan Before You Publish Anything
- Your Website Has No Traffic: Let Codex Find the First Thing to Fix
- Traffic Has Stalled: Make Codex Find Your Fastest Organic Growth Opportunity
- Make Codex Show You What AI Search Gets Wrong About Your Business
7. STOP LINE
State exactly what you did not verify and one thing you will not do without my approval.
Do not give me a keyword list, content calendar, generic SEO checklist, or a
long strategy document. Give me the card first. Then wait for my reply. What a useful Growth Start Card looks like
Here is an illustrative result for a small local bookkeeping website. Your output will differ, but it should be equally specific.
STARTING ROUTE
FIX NO-TRAFFIC SITE. You have a public website with a bookkeeping service
page, but its visible copy does not yet answer a narrow client decision. The
next move is to improve one page before creating a large blog section.
WHAT I CAN SEE
- The home page says "bookkeeping for freelancers" at https://example.com/.
- The service page mentions a discovery call but does not say which freelancer
situations the service is best for: https://example.com/services/bookkeeping.
- No visible page explains self-assessment deadline help for Bristol designers.
- I cannot see Search Console, analytics, service prices, or client outcomes.
FIRST TRAFFIC MISSION
Help freelance designers in Bristol decide what bookkeeping help they need
before a self-assessment deadline, using a page that proves the service scope
and leads to a discovery-call booking.
FIRST GROWTH MOVE
Create an evidence brief for one Bristol freelancer bookkeeping-deadline page.
It comes before keyword research because we need the service scope, client
fit, and deadline-help facts before deciding what the page can honestly claim.
THREE FACTS I NEED FROM THE OWNER
1. Which bookkeeping tasks do you actually provide before the deadline?
2. Can clients outside Bristol use the service, or is Bristol required?
3. What happens after someone submits the discovery-call form?

Your Website Has No Traffic: Let Codex Find the First Thing to Fix.
STOP LINE
I did not verify search traffic, rankings, prices, or client outcomes. I will
not edit the service page or create a new page without your approval.Notice what Codex did not do: it did not claim the site has zero traffic, guess its prices, write a 2,000-word article, or produce an impressive-looking keyword spreadsheet. It found the next decision that makes all later work easier.
Grade Codex before you follow its advice
You do not need technical knowledge to review the card. Use these five checks:
Check | Good output | Bad output | What to say to Codex |
|---|---|---|---|
One route | It chooses one starting route and explains it with visible evidence | It says you need to do everything: technical SEO, 100 blogs, backlinks, and schema |
|
Real evidence | It links to a page or labels the fact unknown | It calls a page slow, unindexed, low-traffic, or poorly ranked without evidence |
|
One move | It gives one small action that changes the site's next state | It gives a vague recommendation such as |
|
Owner facts | It asks for facts only you can know | It asks for an entire business plan or assumes your claims |
|
Safe boundary | It stops before writing, editing, publishing, or contacting anyone | It starts making content or asks for a login |
|
This is the first automation skill you are learning: Codex does the structured inspection; you keep control of facts and decisions.
Save the card and follow one course link
When the card passes the five checks, save it as growth-start-card.md in the same project folder as your site. If you do not have a project folder, make a folder called organic-growth and save it there.
Then do exactly one thing: open the tutorial named in NEXT COURSE LINK.
Do not ask Codex to create content yet. Do not ask it for 100 keywords. Do not install ten plugins. The next article gives Codex a fuller job and a standard for completing it. This first card ensures it works on the right job.
